Know when your friends post new photos on flickr
This might be obvious to some people, but with flickrs RSS feeds you can always be up-to date on your friends posts.
Just go to your flickr friends page. The RSS feed is at the bottom of the page. Subscribe with your favorite offline or on-line newsreader. done.
